On Friday 14 and Saturday 15 May 2010, the EBRD will hold its Annual Meeting and Business Forum in Zagreb (Croatia) and is therefore in a need of a number of enthusiastic candidates to support the Annual Meeting.

Participation in this event is a great opportunity for employed and unemployed professionals with relevant experience looking for an opportunity to gain relevant international experience in addition to stimulating compensation package.


Protocol Assistant (m/f)

The Protocol Assistant will assist the Head of Protocol in the planning, organisation, coordination and delivery of the Protocol elements of the Annual Meeting of the Bank's Board of Governors and the Business Forum.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Duties will include:

  • Liaison with other team members and other services of the AMPEM Unit;
  • Liaison with other EBRD Departments involved in the Annual Meeting;
  • Liaison with Board Assistants;
  • Liaison with the Host Protocol;
  • Assistance with the compiling and monitoring of Social Events lists of acceptance;
  • Assistance to the Spouses Programme officer;
  • Coordination of the Protocol team badging;
  • Manning of the office telephone and emails;
  • Delivery of social events (meet-and-greet, assistance to VIPs where appropriate, lists update, room set-up).

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum BACC education level or equivalent;
  • Excellent English (written and spoken) with knowledge of one other Bank language;
  • Experience in the field of Protocol an asset but not essential;
  • Sound PC skills (good working knowledge (intermediate level preferred) of Excel,
  • Word and Power point also Visio preferred but not essential as training can be given);
  • Keen eyes for detail;
  • Excellent telephone manner, interactive skills and sense of dress;
  • Flexibility and adaptability.

Personal Profile:

  • Good team player, also able to prioritise own workload and work independently to meet important deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal diplomatically at all levels both within the Bank and with other organisations;
  • Excellent communications skills; able to deal effectively and tactfully with sometimes difficult situations;
  • Highly organised and methodical;
  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours when required.

Dates/Hours of work:

The estimated period of work is from Monday 10 to Sunday 16 May 2010, from approximately 08:00 to approximately 20:00.
