Job description
Under general supervision performs a variety of information gathering, monitoring, technical and administrative services of moderate scope and difficulty, in support of Child Protection and Young Child Development Programmes of UNICEF – Office for Croatia.
The incumbent will cover the following duties:
- Organize data and information relevant to programme, prepare and maintain records, documents and monitoring of project/programme implementation
- Process and examine information and data in accordance with instructions received, making necessary abstracts and computation
- Maintain and keep current registers and control plans on the status of projects at the formulation, implementation and operational stages
- Scrutinize plans for operations, exchanges of letters and takes appropriate follow-up action.
- Summarize information reflecting current obligations and future programme and/or budgetary implications
- Establish and maintain regular communication with project partners
- Ensure progress monitoring and provide relevant guidance to partners and consultants
- Prepare various documents, including contracts, requests and reports
- Collect information mainly from records and reports and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports on programme and project activities
- Work with other members of the team on developing programme strategies and plans
- Identify partners and programme activities according to the office workplan
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Essential Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:
- university degree in humanistic sciences, preferably social work, psychology or pedagogy
- two years of professional work experience in project implementation, management, monitoring and administration, of which at least one year closely related to support of programme activities
- ability to research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information
- ability to work well independently and in a team
- ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- excellent command of English and Croatian, written and spoken
- excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- excellent computer skills
- experience of work in UN agency or other international organisation is an advantage
- knowledge of organization’s programme policies, child protection system in Croatia and rights-based programming is an asset
