Genera is a company with more than a hundred years of tradition in manufacturing animal health products, food supplements in the form of vitamins and minerals, disinfectants use and plant protection products. Since 2015 it is a part of the Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC Group.
We are looking for a:
Legal Affairs Associate (m/f)
Provides legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations and privileges of the organization;
Prepares papers and correspondence such as contracts, briefs, summonses, complaints, decisions and motions;
Reporting to Head of Legal in the UK
counselling and providing legal opinions, business support, interpretation and participating in negotiations on commercial contracts and drafting, reviewing and approving Genera’s contracts and other documentation in accordance with local laws and Dechra Group policy;
regular operational support to the business of all the organizational units in Genera;
providing resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action;
providing legal support and advice on the withdrawal of products from certain markets including termination of contracts;
ensuring / monitoring the legal compliance of Genera’s business with the laws in force in Croatia and with corporate policy, guidelines and standards and tracking legislation relevant to fundamental operations of Genera, providing information and taking initiatives for harmonization of internal regulations;
cooperation with legal, financial and other advisors of Genera & Dechra;
report on status and other changes of the Company that are registered in the Commercial court and other official registers in the countries of the region;
the management of the corporate and statutory books of Genera d.d. and its subsidiaries
representation of Genera in the proceedings of the protection of intellectual property rights (trademarks) before the State Intellectual Property Office in Croatia, providing legal opinions regarding intellectual property;
participation in defining and ensuring alignment with corporate policy;
managing insurance policies according to the instructions of Dechra Group policies;
examining legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits;
providing legal advice regarding employment law and supporting the local HR function;
cooperation with the Dechra Group Legal / Company Secretarial in the UK in order to exchange experiences and implement corporate standards pertaining to legal affairs;
informing and educating Company employees to the extent necessary for the optimal and legal operation of the Company within the framework of the Legal Affairs functions.
continually updating contract database;
delivering training to the Genera business on legal matters;
University degree in law;
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in preparation of contracts, correspondence, statements, reports, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry and experience in mergers of companies;
Excellent knowledge of Company Act, Civil Obligation Act, Capital Market Act, Bankruptcy Act Personal data Protection Act;
Fluency in written and oral English;
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel);
Excellent communication skills;
Effectively determine targets, priorities, the time required, the actions required and the resources needed to achieve certain goals;
Problem analysis and decision making skills;
Ability to travel within Europe
