Executive Assistant to the Ambassador (m/f) Vrući posao

BRITISH EMBASSY, ZAGREB SEEKS EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE AMBASSADOR

The British Embassy, Zagreb is recruiting an Executive Assistant to the Ambassador when the present jobholder leaves Zagreb later in 2009.

The jobholder will work closely with the Ambassador to support him in carrying out his role effectively.  You will be a well organised individual, quick at getting tasks done, a confident self-starter and first-rate team player.  You will be able to demonstrate problem solving in a range of roles and will have good inter-personal and communication skills.

In addition to regular PA duties, you will find yourself dealing personally with a wide range of people at a senior level around Croatia and the UK.  You will co‑ordinate the Ambassador’s diary and will be a key point of contact between the Ambassador and different parts of the Embassy and British Consulates in Split and Dubrovnik, the British Council and the Residence team.  You will also be the Ambassador’s Social Secretary, co-ordinating and advising on the representational work and entertainment.

Essential competences we shall be looking for will include:

  • versatility with all Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, and the technical skills to transcribe from audio tapes and manipulate text and data quickly and effectively;
  • fluency in both spoken and written English and Croatian;
  • an ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly and concisely and a polished telephone manner in both languages;
  • high commitment to service delivery and the ability to cut through problems to get things done.

Selection tests and interviews will be held for short-listed candidates in the first half of September with a view to the new Executive Assistant beginning in the job during October 2009.
