Infinite LLC is a young spin out company of the Laboratory of Biophysics Jožef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana), registered in 2020.

Infinite LLC introduces alternative cellular sensor systems to test material safety without the use of test animals.

Infinite d.o.o. develops and combines tissue-on-chip and microscope-on- chip technologies and integrates them into state-of-the-art systems for rapid prediction of material-induced long-term symptoms using the latest scientific knowledge on disease triggering.

Researcher / Developer - physicist (m/ž)

To realize our vision, we are looking for new young motivated colleagues who would join our group on the long-term basis.

Job description:

Development of components and their implementation into a complete microscope-on-chip solution to enable detection of early molecular events. Candidate shall focus the work to development of one or more components and experimental setups.

Work tasks and responsibilities:

  • Development of optical and opto-electronic microscope-on-chip systems, solving related R&D problems including the development of new photonic technologies based on meta-surfaces
  • Professional support to the sales&service team in the implementation of sales and services, in particular in relation to the detection of molecular events and the automation of this detection
  • Coordination or assistance in the organisation of work in the R&D department
  • Coordination or assistance in approaching regulators obtaining appropriate authorisations, as well as in protecting our intellectual property
  • Assistance in purchasing systems and materials within the R&D department, negotiating and communicating with suppliers, coordinating purchases with other departments

Candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Have a PhD in technical / natural sciences, preferably in the fields of physics, biophysics, photonics, nanotechnology
  • Demonstrate professional experience in at least two different work environments (laboratories, companies, institutes, universities) worldwide
  • Demonstrate knowledge of at least two areas of the following: optics, photonics, nanotechnology, experimental physics, electronics and mechanical processing/prototyping
  • Fluent in English

It is desirable that candidates also master problem solving / modeling / programming (in Mathematica, Matlab, LabView, uManager, C++, Python or Java).

We offer:

  • at the beginning we assign a selected candidate to a definite employment relationship with a trial period of 6 months, but looking forward to collaborate on a long-term basis

Place of work: Ljubljana (until spring 2022), then in Maribor
