Main Duties and Responsibilities:

As Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Oncology, yours will be a field-based position with responsibility for establishing AstraZeneca’s scientific leadership in innovative healthcare within the Oncology Therapeutic Area. This will include the development and enhancement of professional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and building their deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds. In order to effectively engage with HCPs and external stakeholders, you will spend 60 to 70% of your time in the field across the territory of Croatia.

You will be continuously developing own expert knowledge of your dedicated therapeutic area and sharing it with HCPs in a scientific, objective and balanced way, thereby communicating the scientific and clinical value of AstraZeneca personalised medicines for patients’ needs. You will further respond to unsolicited requests related to AstraZeneca products and provide medical information on pharmaceutical products/therapeutic area of responsibility to external and internal stakeholders.

You will work in collaboration with the cross-functional brand team. You will contribute to the medico-marketing strategy by providing inputs for Medical plans and Brand Operating Plans, as well as tactically support product campaign development and implementation. Your responsibilities will include developing HCP engagement plans by identifying HCPs with high levels of scientific expertise to collaborate on various data generation projects and specific medico-marketing activities, such as medical educational events that you will be organising and partaking.

Finally, all your activities and interactions will be consistent with AstraZeneca Values and in compliance with the Code of Ethics and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to your role.

Essential Requirements:
- Medical Doctor or Life Sciences university degree
- At least three years of experience in pharmaceutical industry; experience in or knowledge of oncology therapeutic area is of advantage
- Basic medical information, regulatory and competitive intelligence knowledge
- Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to a variety of audiences
- Ability to interact and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
- Focus on science combined with learning agility
- Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Developed strategic thinking, decision-making, as well as planning and organisational skills
- Affinity for working collaboratively across teams
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language
- Driver’s licence and readiness to travel within Croatia

Desirable Competencies:
- Experience in working within Medical Affairs
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing
- Clinical and/or research experience within relevant therapeutic area
