Frontend Developer (m/f)

Job description

What you tell your friends you do:
- You will be part of the Engineering and Development team as a JavaScript/TypeScript developer. You will join an existing team of talented UI/UX developers that work alongside the server-side developers in the US & UK.
- This position is a critical role, and you will be responsible for core feature development of the Video Cloud Platform frontend and any related web development projects.

What you will be doing as a frontend developer:
- You could be playing around and working with the latest technologies in live video streaming and on-demand such as WebRTC, or you could be working on rebuilding the client-side in a new technology.
- Our frontend developers are the key to the success of our business partners so you'll be working closely with the team in an agile environment, conducting regular code reviews and testing.

Requirements

- You are a motivated, enthusiastic and technical individual who is able to hit the ground running.
- You will make and shape the role into your own and grow it to provide real value to our partner and his customers through innovation with a strong focus on design and functionality.
- You'll care deeply about innovative and reliable feature development, the accessibility of the created UI's, have a keen eye for detail whilst following strong design principles.
- You have experience of building complex technical web or desktop applications with substantial UX requirements.
- Although you're not necessarily a designer, you care deeply about interaction and visual design and are able to apply them to create clean user-focused layouts.
- You will know, and be able to articulate, why a design is "wrong" and have a strong understanding of modern development processes.

You should be an expert in:
- Vue.js and/or AngularJS
- HTML 5
- CSS 3
- JavaScript / ES6 / TypeScript
- Web application optimisation and debugging
- Cross-browser issues
- Web application security
- Test-Driven Development

Bonus points for experience of:
- Knowledge of responsive web design
- SCSS / LESS
- WebRTC
- WebSocket
- Web accessibility
- Git / BitBucket
- MySQL
- Knowledge of video streaming protocols
