The successful candidate will demonstrate

The Supplier Development Engineer (m/f) shall be the supporting role for our international team and will empower our Organization in Croatia. The role is a member of supply chain department and takes responsibility that contracted suppliers comply with NVL requirements in terms of quality, deadlines, costs, and legal regulations. They will have previous experience in providing supplier Development Engineering support.

The ideal person for the job will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, result-oriented, highly organized and able to multitask with exceptional analytical skills. Furthermore, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language, together with ability and willingness to travel is a necessity.

For this position, you should have the following key set of skills in your portfolio:
  • Ensuring delivery and performance of critical suppliers in challenging conditions
  • Carrying out diagnoses and (pre-)assessments both proactively in our global supply chain
  • Support for complex supplier development projects, such as quality escapes or major delivery crises, often through ad-hoc on site missions
  • Restoring and securing Supplier performances and leading changes & transformations
  • Application and evolution of the NVL supplier development methods and tools
  • Link up with internal stakeholders such as engineering, procurement and project management as well as the international supplier development team
  • Coaches, mentors, develops, and at times leads training on quality methods & processes
  • Plan & implement document creation, retention, format & distribution programs meeting all regulatory (e.g., GMP, ISO) & quality requirements
  • Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics (cost, delivery, service, quality, innovation, social responsibility)
  • Provide leadership in key process indicator (KPI) definition, structure, and the effective use of measurement data/results to drive alignment and results in multi-site organization
  • Lead improvement projects across the organization to align business processes, ensure common process for customers, drive QMS efficiency, and to product consistent predictable results for Customers
  • Part of a team that is capable of converting a defined service offering into a buildable and scalable set of operational competencies
  • Establish plans of record and capability roadmaps, providing the product management team with direction on operationally possibilities

Qualifications

The Supplier Development Engineer (m/f) has a background balanced with industrial experiences and processes combined with start-up fast moving organizations, as well as:
  • Successfully completed technical studies in the field of mechanical engineering, ship operating technology, electrical engineering or comparable training
  • Relevant professional experience in the above-mentioned area, alternatively in production, planning or design in an industrial company
  • Goal-oriented way of working with the help of well-founded technical expertise and creative solutions
  • Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with non-specialist topics and to analyze them
  • Experienced in handling of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong assertiveness and decisiveness in challenging situations
  • High degree of self-motivation, as well as a structured self-organization
  • High knowledge of English language (written and spoken), German is advantage
  • Increased willingness to travel

Additional Information

In this role, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager but will also closely work with other teams in our Croatian and international organization to ensure continuity of the day-to-day business and scale quickly.

The position is located in Rijeka and might include travel activities abroad and/or other locations from within the NVL Group.
