Why we will love you:

  • Formal education in interior design, architecture or similar and at least 1 year of relevant experience (projects, student work or internship also acceptable), with portfolio.
  • You have a passion for home furnishing, retail, design and how people live at home, and you love teaching others about it (leading workshops, creating social media content, etc.).
  • Good communication skills in Croatian and English, computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software (e.g., Revit/AutoCAD), practical hands-on approach to work (using power tools, climbing ladder, painting walls etc.)
  • Ability to work in a simple and cost-efficient way with focus on continuous feedback-based improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities and deadlines/work in a fast retail environment.
  • You take responsibility for your actions; you are enthusiastic about assignments and working with others in a team.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

About the job:
To create relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that contribute to positioning the IKEA Brand in the local market as the leader in life at home.

About the assignments:

  • Plan, organize, physically implement and maintain your assigned area in the IKEA Zagreb Store or in other IKEA locations in Croatia (Pick up points and Plan and Order Point in Split) in cooperation with your Commercial partners (Sales, Food, Local Marketing and Logistics).
  • Create new and inspiring interior design solutions with different IKEA styles that appeal to many individual tastes, needs and budgets (having local relevance, commerciality, and stock availability in mind), that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.
  • Respect routines and responsibilities and work together with other partnering functions to act quickly to exploit commercial and other opportunities.
  • Understand the impact of your actions on the financial results, and contribute to achieving departmental goals with initiatives that will grow the business and support long-term profitability (rebuilds, creating social media content, leading workshops, supporting Interior design service, etc.)
  • Secure high quality, simplicity, efficiency, and cost consciousness in everyday work. Keep visitors in mind when working on the shop floor, ensure disruption is minimized and always stay aware of the importance of safety and the visual impact for visitors.

Additional information about the job

We offer an one-year contract type (with a six-month probation period and a possibility of prolongation to an indefinite contract type) and full-time (40 hours) position, based in Zagreb.
In this role, you will report to Store Interior Design Manager.

In the IKEA world, this position is officially referred to as: Interior Design Co-worker.
