The EU Funded SUPPORT TO CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT PROJECT is looking for local consultants to work with their international team.
Cluster Consultants – Facilitators (m/f)
The project mission is to improve support for the development of clusters in Croatia.
Our purpose is to enhance the competitiveness of the Croatian economy through improving the quality and variety of support mechanisms available to investors and SMEs at national as well as regional level.
The four main project components are:
Project beneficiaries are Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts in Croatia, while the project is implemented by a Maxwell Stamp PLC led consortium in partnership with SELECTIO d.o.o. and Concorde Consulting Group.

Job Role:
Under the supervision of international experts, the local consultant will advise and guide the work of the Cluster Initiative Leadership Teams, which will consist of representatives of the private sector, public sector and universities. The initial three chosen sectors that will be worked with are the wood, food and metal processing industries. The local consultant will support the cluster initiatives from their initial formation through to the delivery of viable and cohesive strategic and operational plans for the cluster for the short and medium term.
Job Responsibilities:
The key responsibility is to successfully guide and facilitate the Cluster Initiative Leadership Teams to deliver a strategic and operational plan for the cluster initiative.
Job Outputs
The person(s) required:
Education:
University Degree – a business/sector related background would be preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 15 years working in the Public/Private/University sectors, or a combination of all three.
A substantial and verifiable track record in delivering value-adding strategic commercial consulting and top-team facilitation is required.
A professional background in food, wood and metal processing sectors would be a distinct advantage.
Skills:
Highly accomplished across the full range of commercial business management and personal effectiveness skills (e.g. communication – both written and spoken; strong process management and excellent interpersonal skills essential to effective facilitation of the Cluster Initiative Leadership Teams).
Qualities:
An incisive and critical thinker who combines the characteristics of initiative, drive, independence and is results oriented with strong emotional intelligence and a proven facilitation temperament. A strong sense of business ethics and personal integrity are essential.
Evidence of being a strong team player with experience in a business start-up environment would be an advantage.
The position will be a part-time consultancy assignment based in Zagreb with regular travel to other locations within Croatia. The assignment is planned to start in mid-May 2012 and is current forecast to conclude in February 2013.
