Our client MAERSK, one of the world's largest port and terminal operators based in the Netherlands, has signed a new concession agreement for the container terminal Zagrebačka Obala; Port of Rijeka. This is the largest project in the history of the Port of Rijeka, both in terms of importance and value, significantly expanding the port operations and logistics business of Rijeka and Croatia.

Currently, they are looking to build their team in Croatia and hire an ambitious and motivated individuals in the position of:

Customer Experience Agent (m/f)

Location: Rijeka

 

The main responsibility is to provide 1st class level of customer service to clients, professionally and efficiently always and in accordance with documented procedures. To liaise with other key parties including third party suppliers and other Maersk LNS offices around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures for each client and constantly review for potential improvement under for Ocean, SCM, LCL, Intermodal and WND products (dependent on the customer handled).
  • Ensure that all sales invoices are raised in an accurate and timely fashion in line with the company policy and client requirements.
  • Ensure all supplier purchase invoices received are processed within the guidelines stated in the quality procedures.
  • Ensure each shipment generates the maximum contribution by keeping a constant focus on meeting the required service level at the lowest possible cost.
  • Support the client in problem solving by building an in depth understanding of their business and the problems that impact on it, reacting in a manner which improves the outcome from the client´s perspective.
  • Proactively identify challenges within the client’s process which we manage and suggest possible solution to optimize the process.
  • Represent to the client an a positive “can do” manner. If specific requests cannot be accommodated identify alternative solutions providing a similar result and present these to the client as a possible solution.
  • Ensuring compliance with processes and operational procedures, compliance with relevant regulations (safety at work, working hours, regulations, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Developed communication, persuasiveness, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Has strong needs evolution and questioning skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle most common customer objections.
  • Preferred experience in a customer facing role, ideally within the logistics industry (understanding of logistics and forwarding products, solutions and terminology).
  • Capable of driving (cross functional) process improvements and turning around dissatisfied customers’ experience.
  • Self-Motivated and performance driven.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
